US ITWIFF to host Iranian ‘Oblivion’

Iran’s short ‘Oblivion’ is to be screened at the 4th Annual Imagine This Women's Int'l Film Festival in the US.

Iran’s short ‘Oblivion’, directed by Fatemeh Mohammadi, has been set to be screened at the 4th Annual Imagine This Women's International Film Festival (ITWIFF) in the US.

Produced by Iranian Youth Cinema Society, ‘Oblivion’ depicts the challenges facing old people.

“Old people are passed into oblivion when their loved ones forget about them,” a synopsis for the film reads.

‘Oblivion’ has won the Second Best Film award at the 2nd Shahu International Film Festival in India and the Best Short Film Cultural Diversity award at the 2019 Setting Sun Film Festival in Australia.

The film has also attended several global events, including the Phoenix Film Festival, the Buffalo International Film Festival, and the Post Alley Film Festival, all in the US, as well as the Mercy to Universe International Short Film Competition in Turkey.

The ITWIFF, is a women's film festival that aims to celebrate and empower independent and aspiring women filmmakers from around the world, according to the event’s website.

The 4th Annual ITWIFF will take place in Brooklyn on November 7-10, 2019.
